Local Environmental Records Centre (LERC) Wales: Welsh Protected and Priority Species (PPS) Collation (3rd Party Data)
The data are collated from species datasets held by the Welsh Local Environmental Records Centres. Species are selected to form part of this dataset if they have international/national protection or national priority status (UKBAP or Section 42 of the NERC Act). The purpose of this data capture was to inform conservation management and decisions. Data being recieved from LERC's does vary between centre. North Wales Environmental Information Centre (COFNOD) data only contains data that has been verified by trusted sources and specialists in the field. South East Wales Biodiversity Records Centre (SEWBReC), West Wales Biodiversity Information Centre (WWBIC) and Biodiversity Information Service for Powys and Brecon Beacons National Park (BIS) data contains all protected and priority records including records that have been unverified.
