British Geological Survey (BGS): Maps and Memoirs (3rd Party Data)
The British Geological Survey (BGS) maps and memoirs are the principal geological data sources in Britain. Traditionally the 1:50,000 maps have been accompanied by explanatory volumes called Memoirs however now maps are often published with less comprehensive sets of explanatory notes. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) holds a basic digital GIS layer of BGS geological data at 1:250,000 scale and selected memoirs and reports are held by NRW libraries.
