The area surveyed is approximately 13 km long and 4 km wide. Additional boat time between British Geological Survey (BGS) surveys was utilised to provide coverage of the North Llyn Modiolus bed. The dataset has been subsequently used by former Countryside Council for Wales (CCW), now Natural Resources Wales (NRW) for modiolus monitoring work; and, by Bangor University for teaching and Master of Science (MSc) project work. The confidence in this dataset is high. The data has been tidally corrected although a couple of small gaps exist. It is not clear whether the data meets International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) order 1 standards.
