These areas were selected by JNCC as historic data and evidence suggested that Modiolus modiolus beds, (a subtype of Annex I reef), had been recorded within these areas. The purpose of this data capture was to obtain multibeam (MBES) coverage of two areas of search, in order to carry out seabed interpretation and identify potential drop-camera locations for possible Modiolus modiolus biogenic reef presence. The interpretation of these data was to be used to identify potential drop-camera locations.
