Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) (3rd Party Data)
This is a spatial dataset detailing the extent and location of the boundaries of all Sites of Interest for Nature Conservation (SINCs), also known as Wildlife Sites, in Wales, owned by the Local Authorities and licenced to Natural Resources Wales. SINC's are intended to provide comprehensive coverage of sites of nature conservation value. SINC's do not have statutory protection (unless they are also SSSIs or LNRs), but local authorities are expected to take account of the need to protect them in deciding their planning and development policies. SINC's sites are designated by local authorities in cooperation with local wildlife trusts and other local stakeholders. Information includes site name, site description, reason for designation, total area (ha) and which local record centre area the site is in.
