Mae'r prosiect Dosbarthiad Llystyfiant Cenedlaethol Cyfnod 2 hwn a'i setiau data cysylltiedig yn gasgliad o gynefinoedd morfa heli sydd wedi'u mapio ledled Cymru. Casglwyd y data hwn i ddarparu trosolwg o forfeydd heli ledled Cymru. Cynhaliwyd yr arolygon rhwng 1990 a 2003. Mae'r set ddata wedi'i chadarnhau a'i dilysu'n drwyadl. Fodd bynnag, gall cyfansoddiad cynefinoedd newid dros amser o ganlyniad i dueddiadau olynol, rheolaeth tir neu hyd yn oed ddatblygiadau arfaethedig. This dataset is one of a series of major Phase 2 lowland habitat surveys including former Countryside Council for Wales’ (CCW) in-house and commissioned surveys covering grassland, woodland, heathland, peatland and sand dunes. Dataset is a collation of 14 NRW commissioned NVC surveys carried out on saltmarshes across Wales.
Individual surveys utilised standard NVC Phase 2 survey methodology and community definition follows the National Vegetation Classification. Habitats were mapped using GIS against either OS maps or aerial photographs. Target notes and quadrat species lists were compiled. Data collected by trained personnel, digitised by contractors, validated by NRW KMG, corrections made by contractors, validated again by NRW KMG, corrections made in-house in conjunction with relevant salt marsh specialist.
This dataset has contribute towards the monitoring of Special Area of Conservation, which includes: Carmarthen Bay and Estuaries / Bae Caerfyrddin ac Aberoedd; Glannau Môn: Cors heli / Anglesey Coast: Saltmarsh; Pembrokeshire Marine / Sir Benfro Forol; Pen Llyn a`r Sarnau / Lleyn Peninsula and the Sarnau; Dee Estuary / Aber Dyfrdwy and Severn Estuary / Môr Hafren.
