Eight replicate samples of the strandline were taken on each beach using a 0.25m2 box quadrat which was driven into the sediment to a depth of 15 cm. Surface debris and sand down to a depth of 20 cm was removed, and later sieved to remove the fauna for analysis. The nature of strandline debris was also noted. Increased monitoring efforts and impact assessment following the Sea Empress oil spill. This dataset contributed to the Pembrokeshire Marine Species Atlas, see separate metadata entry.
