Skomer Marine Conservation Zone ( MCZ ) - Passive Sediment (Collector) Data
In 2015 Skomer Marine Nature Reserve changed designation to Skomer Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ). Skomer Marine Nature Reserve (MNR) was designated in 1990. Passive sediment traps have been deployed at 2 sites intermittently since 1994. Sediment dropping out of the water column is collected into a pot. The sample pots are changed every 2 weeks during the field season and the sediment samples are frozen. The purpose of this data capture was to record the depositional material occurring in the MNR.
