This dataset contains the results of an investigation into the effects of the oiling and its clean-up on sensitive sessile intertidal communities of marine invertebrates and the results of an investigation into possible effects of the oil/clean up on the biology of Alcyonidium species at Dale and Angle. The purpose of these investigations were to survey the lower shore sessile fauna on the north side of St Catherine's Island, Tenby documenting the present composition of the sessile fauna, to assess what changes had occurred since the 1950s and whether any of these might be attributable to the oiling an clean up following the Sea Empress grounding; and investigate the effect of the oil on the reproduction and recruitment of Alcyonidium species (Bryozoa) on Fucus serratus at Dale and Angle in Milford Haven and at control sites in Solva Harbour.
