Impacts were recorded in terms of estimated dunging, shoot nibbling and erosion. Photographs were taken throughout the project to assist in the process of plot relocation, to give an impression of the type and condition of vegetation at the time of recording, and to illustrate selected general and specific subjects. Baseline survey of 30 plots was carried out autumn 1998 to early summer 1999. The first repeat survey was carried out in the autumn of 2000 (10 of the 30 plots), second repeat survey took place in 2001 (same 10 plots as in 2000), third repeat survey in 2002 (same 10 plots plus 15 others), fourth repeat survey (same 10 plots as in 2000) and in 2004 all 30 plots were resurveyed at the end of the 5 year cycle. This surveillance data covers most vegetation communities however scree, chasmophytic and tall herb ledge vegetation are not included- they are being monitored under a separate programme.
