Volunteer Resource Packs for Marine Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) Species and Habitats
A project designed to develop a series of "volunteer packs" to provide guidance for volunteers to take measurements on the 'extent' and 'condition' of 8 Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) habitats and species as follows; Subtidal seagrass beds; Mat mussel beds; Crayfish; crawfish or spiny Lobster; Fragile sponge and anthozoans communities on subtidal rock habitats; Intertidal seagrass beds; Honeycomb worm reefs; Peat and clay exposures; Natural blue mussel beds on sediment. This project was create and data captured to allow volunteers to contribute to BAP habiat and species recording by providing robust and scientific data to a described standard. The project includes a report on the scope and discussion of best methods for volunteers for each habitat and species existing distribution maps and GIS layers for the 8 habitat and species images of each habitat and species draft resource packs and recording forms.
