This follows on from previous ground-truthing carried out in 2011 (Marine Archive project 313). Analysis and Marine Recorder entry to be undertaken later in the year under Data Capture call-off contract. The purpose of this data capture was to conduct a ground truthing exercise through which the extent and quality of Modiolus mussel beds could be assessed in an area of the coast of the Llyn Peninsula, North Wales. A Cannon EOS 400D digital SLR was also used in a housing manufactured by Rovtech systems. Photographic stills were taken every 11 seconds along the tows to assist with species and habitat validation.
