The data collected at Borras Quarry include 14 psammophilic species and 70 aculeate species. The data collected at Marford Quarry include 8 psammophilic species and 69 aculeate species. The aim of this survey was to determine whether the sand quarries supported suitable habitat conditions for invertebrate species and to make recommendations for securing the long-term sympathetic management of these important sites. The diversity of aculeate species recorded across both quarries to date, with a total of 135 species, ranks these sites among the most species-rich locations in Wales for this group.
