A geomorphological appraisal and options for dune rejuvenation at Pembrey Burrows (2014).
This dataset consists of the results from a geomorphological assessment of Pembrey Burrows, south Wales. The datasets holds a combination of environmental data, published and unpublished literature, air photography, LiDAR interpretation, site visits and discussions with relevant personnel. The purpose of this data capture and analyses was to provide a geomorphological assessment of Pembrey Burrows sand dunes system, with the aim of creating an informed management policy in the future which could include options for dune rejuvenation.

Methods of data capture: The dataset compilation involved the following: - A review of relevant environmental data, published and unpublished literature - Analysis of aerial photographs and LiDAR imagery - Analysis of strategic coastal monitoring data - Site visits and discussions with representatives of NRW, Carmarthenshire County Council and Defence Training Estates in January and February 2014 - Laboratory analysis of sand samples collected during site visits. The report associated with this data is the latest in a series which describe the geomorphological characteristics of major sand dune systems in Wales. All data is included within the report supplied to NRW.
