The dataset contains the results from DNA analyses conducted on 226 fish eggs sampled from the river Wye, Usk and Tywi. The aim of the project was to use genetic techniques to address the weaknesses identified in the methods already adopted by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) for sampling shad eggs. The main objectives of analyses were to: - Determine whether the collected eggs belonged to Alosa spp. - Determine the proportion of Twaite and Allis shad using three different genetic markers.
