Newborough Topographic Surveys conducted as part of Sand Dune Rejuvenation Trials (1950-2015)
There were three main purposes for this dataset: - To provide information on the development of remobilising and monitoring the dune system; - Conduct a baseline topographic survey to provide local pre-works and height information as part of the remobilisation and monitoring; - Provide temporal comparisons of topographic profiles and mapping the limits of define features - Temporal comparison of topographic profiles and mapping limits of define features. Newborough sand dune system forms part of the Newborough Warren Ynys Llanddwyn Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the Abermenai to Aberffraw Dunes Special Area of Conservation (SAC). This dataset holds a variety of physical, chemical and historic data related to rejuvenation and monitoring works completed on the dune system. The data includes topographic surveys, sediment sampling, LiDAR surveys, drone aerial photography surveys, historic aerial photos and maps.
