This dataset is primarily made up of aquatic and riparian species (marine and freshwater) including invertebrates, plants, algae and fish. The data includes ad-hoc records from surveys at local offices. Data collection started in the 1970s onwards. This dataset does not include records of Freshwater Pearl Mussel, but otherwise includes all Rare and Protected species surveyed by the former Environment Agency Wales, now Natural Resources Wales.
