The true extent of its UK distribution and status remain uncertain although Simuliidae are increasingly identified to species level during routine river quality monitoring. This survey shows the results of samples and observations of simuliid larvae and pupae collected in early August 2018 and compares the results with a similar survey undertaken in 2008.
