This information is required by Welsh Government for a variety of reasons including: reporting on waste generation in compliance with the EU Waste Statistics Regulations 2002; informing the development of national waste policy; monitoring progress against national waste prevention and recycling targets; informing waste planners and the regulator; and providing data to the waste management industry to inform investment decisions. The precision for the total waste generated is +/- 4.54% at 90% confidence. Mae’r wybodaeth hon yn ofynnol gan Lywodraeth Cymru am nifer o resymau gan gynnwys: - adrodd ar gynhyrchu gwastraff yn unol â Rheoliadau Ystadegau Gwastraff yr UE 2002; - cyfarwyddo datblygiad polisi gwastraff cenedlaethol; - monitro cynnydd yn erbyn targedau atal ac ailgylchu gwastraff cenedlaethol; - hysbysu cynllunwyr gwastraff a'r rheoleiddiwr; a - darparu data i'r diwydiant rheoli gwastraff i gyfarwyddo penderfyniadau buddsoddi. Casglwyd data o sampl gynrychioliadol o 1,755 safle busnes o wahanol sectorau a meintiau ledled Cymru rhwng mis Ebrill 2019 a mis Hydref 2019. Cafodd y data ei grosio gan ddefnyddio data poblogaeth safleoedd busnes y Swyddfa Ystadegau Gwladol (SYG) i lefel ranbarthol a chenedlaethol yng Nghymru. Roedd y fethodoleg a ddefnyddiwyd yn yr arolwg hwn yn gymharol ar y cyfan â’r arolygon Diwydiannol a Masnachol blaenorol a gwblhawyd yng Nghymru, y darparodd y rhai mwyaf diweddar ohonynt ddata ar gyfer blwyddyn galendr 2012. The ONS data showed that there were 97,999 Industrial and Commercial business sites in Wales in 2018 with 7% in Industrial sectors and 93% in Commercial sectors. Of these business sites, 65% had fewer than five employees and 2% had one hundred or more employees. The methodology used in this survey was mainly comparable with the previous IandC surveys completed in Wales, of which the most recent provided data for the 2012 calendar year. Data was collected from a representative sample of 1,755 business sites of differing sectors and sizes throughout Wales between April 2019 and October 2019. The data was grossed up using Office for National Statistics (ONS) business site population data to regional and national level in Wales.
