The survey also sought to determine whether the closely related and even rarer caddisfly Limnephilus pati, which has not previously been recorded from the reserve or elsewhere in Wales, was present within suitable habitat. Surveys were conducted between June and August 2022 using light traps deployed at selected locations across the reserve. As the light-trapping methodology also attracted other nocturnal insects, the survey additionally recorded macro- and micro-moth species present at the site. The resulting data improve understanding of the distribution and status of L. tauricus and contribute to the wider knowledge of the reserve's invertebrate fauna.
