The Narrow-mouthed Whorl Snail (Vertigo angustior), an Annex II species under the Habitats Directive, was first recorded at Whiteford Burrows in 1983, representing the first live record for Wales and western Britain. Previous surveys have been undertaken at the site between 1983 and 2018. This 2021 survey was carried out to improve understanding of the species' distribution within the dune system, including areas not previously surveyed and the recently established marine-terrestrial transition zone at Cwm Ivy Marsh. A total of 29 survey locations were assessed across Whiteford Burrows and Cwm Ivy Marsh between 27 and 29 September 2021.
