Data quality was assessed using age of records and comprehensiveness of survey. Each of the criteria were assessed on a scale of poor to excellent. The WSF decided which sites are robust for the future of red squirrel populations. The 2010 data reflect the focal site boundaries agreed through the above process. WSF can review and update the focal site boundaries as per the conservation plan. NB the plan was reviewed in 2018, The Red Squirrel Conservation Plan for Wales, 2018. The 2023 data reflects changes agreed by the WSF.
