The 12 Important Curlew Area (ICA) boundaries have been drawn up by the members of Gylfinir Cymru / Curlew Wales. Glyfinir Cymru / Curlew Wales is a joint working group between organisations that are committed to Curlew recovery in Wales, including representatives from the government, conservation, farming, and game management sectors.


Some of the original hand drawn maps were passed to British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) to draw, then passed to NRW to finalise. The others were sent to NRW to check. If they were correct they were uploaded to the Gylfinir Cymru / Curlew Wales web site. If they were incorrect, they were sent back to the originator.

Dr Mae ffiniau 12 Ardal Gylfinir Bwysig (ICA) wedi cael eu llunio gan aelodau Gylfinir Cymru / Curlew Wales. Gweithgor ar y cyd rhwng sefydliadau sydd wedi ymrwymo i adfer y Gylfinir yng Nghymru yw Gylfinir Cymru / Curlew Wales, sy’n cynnwys cynrychiolwyr o sectorau’r llywodraeth, cadwraeth, ffermio a rheoli helwriaeth.


Cafodd rhai o'r mapiau gwreiddiol a dynnwyd â llaw eu trosglwyddo i Ymddiriedolaeth Adareg Prydain (BTO) i’w llunio, yna cawsant eu trosglwyddo i CNC i’w gorffen. Anfonwyd y lleill i CNC yn uniongyrchol i’w gwirio. Os oeddent yn gywir roeddent yn cael eu uwchlwytho i wefan Gylfinir Cymru/Curlew Wales. Os oeddent yn anghywir, byddent yn cael eu hanfon yn ôl i’r unigolyn gwreiddiol.


Mae'r haen Ardaloedd Gylfinir Pwysig (ICA) GIS derfynol yn gyfuniad o'r holl wahanol ffiniau ardal a ddarperir gan bartneriaid prosiect Gylfinir Cymru fel un haen gyffredinol. Mae'r ffiniau a ddarparwyd yn wreiddiol yn gymysgedd bras o rai a luniwyd â llaw ar y system GIS, tra bo rhai eraill yn cael eu matsio’n ofalus â ffiniau gweinyddol/safleoedd gwarchodedig, felly dylai defnyddwyr fod yn ymwybodol nad yw'r holl ddata wedi'i ddal o’r un safon neu eglurdeb/graddfa.
