This data is counts of seals hauled out during aerial surveys of the coast of Wales in August 2023.

Data was collected by the Sea Mammal Research Unit, University of St Andrews (SMRU) during their oblique aerial photographic surveys of the coast of Wales in August 2023.
Survey followed standard techniques as outlined in Thompson et al. (2019).

NRW does not authorise the commercial re-use of SMRUs preexisting IPR (e.g. methodologies or know-how) however this does not affect re-use of the resultant data described in this metadata.
