It brings together evidence across terrestrial, freshwater, and marine environments for Annex I habitats, Annex II, IV and V species (excluding birds), and all regularly occurring wild bird species in Wales. The resource includes conservation status assessments for habitats and non-bird species, bird population status and trends with associated pressures and conservation measures. The data were compiled by Natural Resources Wales on behalf of Welsh Government using the UK-wide methodology set out in the JNCC Approach Document, drawing on NRW monitoring programmes, partner agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and citizen science schemes. All data have undergone quality assurance and expert review to meet statutory reporting requirements and provide an evidence base for biodiversity conservation and policy in Wales.
