Fairy Glen Lichen Survey 2024
The NRW managed sections of Fairy Glen Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) were surveyed for lichens in 2024. 111 lichen species were recorded during the survey including the second British record of Porina atlantica. The Southern Oceanic Woodland Index (SOWI) Index score of 35 is significant in the Area of Search.
Management recommendations to maintain and enhance the lichen populations are given.
