It lists every file note that holds survey information but it does not hold actual data. Every survey has a separate entry on the database consisting of two screens: the first screen contains structured data giving bibliographic, geographic and scientific details for the survey, the second, a summary of the survey's objectives, methodology, results and conclusions together with notes on the number of sites in the survey, maps and photographs. Generally the records are limited to one line of information in the objectives, methodology, results and conclusions fields. WALSIN can only be used for archival storage and retrieval and does not allow new data input.
