Species Licence Return Datasets
This dataset was collected for recording and monitoring species which require licences. It is a collation created using licence return forms, and is made up of a number of species including, amphibians and reptiles, dormouse, bats, plants, badgers and otters.

Species data is extracted from returned species licences. Species data could contain sensitive species information and may require a licence. Paper records stored by NRW are all sensitive and restricted. Some of the paper records have been digitised by NRW and put into Recorder 6. This data has been packaged with other species licence return data on Recorder 6 and is available to download via the NBN Gateway (see Parent ID). Some of the data has been digitised by Cofnod, and others remain in hard copy paper format. Some more recent mammal licence return data has been digitised by Cofnod. Cofnod act as data custodian and hold the top copy of this licence return data, not the data held in Recorder 6 which is managed by NRW.
