Gwarchodfeydd Biosffer
Mae'r set ddata ofodol hon yn crynhoi ffiniau'r Gwarchodfeydd Biosfferig yng Nghymru. Mae Gwarchodfa Biosfferig yn ddynodiad gan UNESCO ar sail enwebiadau gan fwy na 110 o wledydd. Dewisir y safleoedd er mwyn gwarchod enghreifftiau o ardaloedd sy'n nodweddiadol o ardaloedd naturiol y byd. Rhaid iddynt fod yn ardaloedd lle mae pobl yn rhan bwysig o fywyd bob dydd hefyd. Mae'r biosffer yn newid yn gyflym dan ddylanwad gweithgaredd dynol, felly maen holl bwysig deall sut i ddiwallu'r anghenion dynol hyn tra'n gwarchod prosesau naturiol a bywyd gwyllt yr ardal yr un pryd.

The original boundary was a paper map but later became digital data. The outer edge of the biosphere boundary is made of Community Council boundaries to landward and the seaward edge is snapped to the -10 metre bathymetric contour. The inner two zones follow firstly Sites of Scientific Interest (SSSI) boundaries (Buffer Zone) and then the Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) boundaries (Core Zone). The largest area is called the Transition Zone. This latest modification to the original site boundary was produced digitally.
The data has been checked by Natural Resources Wales' staff.
