Gwarchodfeydd Natur Lleol (GNLl)

Mae'r set ddata ofodol hon yn crynhoi ffiniau digidol Gwarchodfeydd Natur Lleol (GNLl) yng Nghymru. Mae gwarchodfeydd Natur Lleol yn cael eu sefydlu a'u rheoli gan awdurdodau lleol, yn dilyn ymgynghoriad â hyfoeth Naturiol Cymru (CNC) dan Ddeddf Parciau Cenedlaethol a Mynediad i Gefn Gwlad 1949. Er mwyn i safle gael ei dynodi'n Warchodfa Natur Leol rhaid bod ganddi nodweddion naturiol sydd o ddiddordeb arbennig i'r ardal leol ac mae'n rhaid i'r awdurdod naill ai fod â hawl gyfreithiol ar y tir neu gytundeb gyda'r perchennog i reoli'r tir fel gwarchodfa. Mae GNLl yn fuddiol nid yn unig er mwyn diogelu cynefinoedd a bywyd gwyllt ond hefyd er mwyn cynyddu ymwybyddiaeth pobl o'u hamgylchedd. Maent yn lleoedd lle gall plant ddysgu am natur, ac maent wedi'u lleoli mewn neu gerllaw ardaloedd trefol yn aml. Gweler Deddf Cefn Gwlad 1949 am y rhesymau dros y dynodiad gwreiddiol. Mae dyfodiad y System Gwybodaeth Ddaearyddol (GIS) a'i defnydd gan adrannau'r llywodraeth a chwmnau masnachol i ddefnyddio'r data fel hyn, yn gwella amddiffyniad y safleoedd hyn ac effeithlonrwydd y broses o wneud penderfyniadau. Dynodwyd y Gwarchodfeydd Natur Lleol dros nifer o flynyddoedd, o 1970 hyd heddiw, ac mae hyn yn parhau.

Datganiad: Originally produced as paper maps but with the progress to GIS later designations produced directly from digital capture. As NRW is part of the designation process, Unitary Authorities pass their proposed LNR boundary to NRW either as a paper map or digitally. The boundary is re-digitised to the NRW specification and returned for checking to the source Authority. Once designated the LNR is added to the 'Main dataset'. Digital data captured to OS MasterMap. If the local Authority wish to make subsequent changes to the boundaries they can make them without re-designation and without them being to NRW specifications.
