Safleoedd o Ddiddordeb Gwyddonol Arbennig (SoDdGA)
Mae'r set ddata ofodol hon yn cynnwys ffiniau Safleoedd o Ddiddordeb Gwyddonol Arbennig (SoDdGA) yng Nghymru. Mae SoDdGA yn cwmpasu amrywiaeth eang o gynefinoedd megis ffeniau bach, corsydd, dolydd glan afon, twyni tywod, coetiroedd ac ardaloedd helaeth o ucheldir. Mae'r rhan fwyaf mewn perchnogaeth breifat, er bod rhai yn eiddo i ac yn cael eu rheoli gan ymddiriedolaethau bywyd gwyllt lleol neu gyrff cadwraeth gwirfoddol eraill. Mae dynodiad SoDdGA dan Ddeddf Bywyd Gwyllt a Chefn Gwlad 1981 wedi ei ddiwygio gan Ddeddf Cefn Gwlad a Hawliau Tramwy 2001, a gyflwynodd newidiadau niferus i'r ffordd y mae SoDdGA yn cael eu dynodi, eu rheoli a'u gwarchod. Er mwyn sicrhau bod rheolaeth hirdymor yr ardaloedd hyn yn gyson a ffafriol mae Cyfaeth Naturiol Cymru, ar y cyd thirfeddianwyr, wedi paratoi cynlluniau rheoli ar gyfer pob SoDdGA yng Nghymru. Mae'n ofynnol i awdurdodau cynllunio lleol ymgynghori â CNC cyn caniatáu i unrhyw ddatblygiad fynd rhagddo a allai effeithio ar SoDdGA. Mae'n rhaid i gwmnau dŵr, nwy a thrydan wneud hynny hefyd. Mae SoDdGA wedi cael eu dynodi dros nifer o flynyddoedd, o 1949 hyd heddiw, ac maent yn parhau.

All SSSIs designated before GIS technology have been converted into digital data from paper maps of various scales. In 2008 the whole dataset was updated to OS MasterMap (mostly to CCW 2006 OS update). This update referred to the original designation maps and all notational descriptions on these maps e.g. “Only the water under the bridges included in the site” OR “SSSI boundary follows, in part the lines of the Mean High and Low Water Marks; both are liable to change.” All new or re-notified sites will be put to the latest release by NRW of OS MasterMap and this information is recorded in the attribute data under the Last_Edited column. As OSMM is updated by the Ordnance Survey it is important to check where boundaries may subsequently have moved.

Please refer to Countryside Acts 1949,1981 and 2001, for reasons for capture of original designation. NRW has also created a subset of this dataset showing only those where relate to the marine environment. These are available on the Welsh Government marine planning portal.
