Environment Agency Wales (EAW) Landholdings
This is a spatial dataset for internal use only, containing information on areas of land in which former Environment Agency Wales (EAW), now part of Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have an interest or a right to manage. This includes freehold and leasehold land, EAW land that is let out and land which has been disposed of, access agreements, agreements, deeds of grants, easements, fishing rights, honoraria, lettings, licenses, sub leases, and wayleaves. This provides an indicative representation land managed by EAW in Wales. The dataset contains only polygons which includes information on site name and unique codes. Content varies for each parcel of land but often includes personal details (which are regarded as sensitive) and basic details of agreements. The purpose of the data is to provide location and boundary information primarily for use by the estates department. This is not an exhaustive list of all of the assets that ex-EAW own/maintain or have an interest in.

This dataset has been produced to assist Natural Resources Wales (NRW) employees in day to day land formally managed by EAW. The purpose of this data capture was to provide accurate legal maps all land owned and managed by EAW in Wales however since the transfer of this data to NRW it has become apparent that not all deeds have been captured and not every polygon has legal documents to support our ownership/management of that parcel of land. In addition to this the dataset was inherited from Environment Agency by NRW so no information is available on the source, quality, collection or processing methods. The data has been digitised to OS Products at different scales as appropriate to the parcel of land. It contains polygons of disposed (sold) land so cannot be used to show an accurate picture of Ex-EA land ownership without manipulation of the data.
