2022 NRW Skomer MCZ Nudibranch Survey
Every four years a nudibranch survey is completed at several locations within the Skomer MCZ. Nudibranchs are a feature of the Skomer Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ) for which species diversity and the presence of rare or scarce species are attributes used to assess conservation status. Nudibranch species recorded include several classed as nationally scarce or with limited national distribution in the British Isles.

During a dive divers search for nudibranchs and record and photograph the animals. If it is necessary to confirm identification specimens are collected for microscopic identification, and returned to the water the following day.
In 2022 17 sites were dived over 8 days, and a total of 55 different nudibranch species were recorded.
A copy of the open data is archived at DASSH (DASSH identifier to be added).
